Microsoft released 16 security bulletins Tuesday to repair 49 security vulnerabilities, including six critical ones, in a record-setting patch release. Microsoft says that two of them, the Internet Explorer fix numbered MS10-071 and a Windows patch numbered MS10-076, should get top priority. Microsoft thinks attack code is likely to be developed that will target bugs fixed by both of those updates.

The security patch affects Windows, Internet Explorer, and Office. Four of the new patches, which include software updates that write over glitches, are high priority; users are advised to deploy the patches right away to protect users from potential criminal attacks on the Windows operating systems.

A Russian company has unveiled an ambitious plan to launch a "cosmic hotel" for wealthy space tourists. Orbital Technologies says its "comfortable" four-room guest house could be in orbit by 2016, Russia's RIA Novosti news agency reports. Guests would be ferried to the hotel on a Soyuz shuttle of the type used to transport cosmonauts to the International Space Station (ISS).

Dell is getting ready to launch its second Android tablet. Dell launching 7-inch Android tablet device in next few weeks. Dell plan to introduce 10-inch tablet within 6-12 months, Dell Greater China President Amit Midha said Wednesday.  Android is confirmed as the OS on the 7-incher, but Windows will be making an appearance somewhere along the line as well. Plenty to look forward to, then.

No hard details are available yet, but livestream hope this 7-inch device is Dell's Looking Glass tablet that is powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor. Livestream originally thought Dell's 7-incher would not appear till next year when we are expecting the Honeycomb tablets, but it sounds like they will use a custom version of Android 2.2 for the device.
